Acer plans include a low-cost PC

Digitimes reports the news according to which Acer, which has always been held at a distance by several projects low-price PC such as the eee PC Asus, would set up a team to investigate this particular sector. According to Scott Lin, president of Acer Taiwan is not yet established a budget for a possible field of research and development to a new model low-price, since the Taiwanese company intends to concentrate its efforts on economic throughout its Corsican existing line in the 2008.

Mr.Lin also added that if the forecasts prove accurate Asus, the PC model eee reach in 2008 a market share of about 2-3% of the notebook sector, a slice too modest to think seriously, and in time close to a possible model competitor.
