Call of Duty 4 only in standard definition?

Wednesday, November 28, 2007

One of the horses battle of Infinity Ward being publicized Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was the support of the resolution 720p, with antialiasing 2x and the frame rate of 60 fps. The fourth Call of Duty actually behaves so egregious in terms of performance, while ensuring a graphic impact of excellent quality. However, the indiscretions emerging under which the game girerebbe on XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 to the resolution of 600p rather than the promise of 720p. In essence, therefore, Call of Duty 4 is not natively in high definition. Both consoles will occupy later by the respective chip upscaling, to bring the image to the resolution of 720p.

Of course, everything is to be seen whether the absence of 120 pixels influence, and if so to what extent, the quality of the image. The indiscretions are reported on Computer and Videogames forums and Beyond 3D.

This story reminds one that closely involved Bungie and Halo 3, which does not turn to the resolution of 720p but 640p. At that Bungie admitted that the resolution of Halo 3 is lower than promised in press release. The reason that led Bungie to suggest a lower resolution is the use of two frame buffer, instead of one, for better management of the lightings.
