The Taiwanese DFI, a company specializing in motherboards for the public pot users enthusiast, presents its own new solution based on Socket AM2+, then addressed the matching with AMD Phenom presented formally this week. Talk model LANParty UT 790FX-M2R solution based on AMD 790FX and south bridge SB600 that integrates 3 Slot PCI Express 16x mechanics with which to configure setup CrossfireX with 3 video cards in parallel. This technology has already been submitted by AMD, but is not yet available because the driver CrossfireX will be presented only during the first weeks of 2008.
In addition to 3 Slot PCI Express 16x are 4 slot modules DDR2 memory, 3 PCI slots and 1 slot traditional PCI Express 4x. The power circuitry implemented by DFI for this motherboard provides a structure with 6-way PWM dedicated to the processor, with an additional seventh specifically dedicated to the north bridge: this allows, according to what is stated by the manufacturer, to ensure greater stability of operation when the processor is overclocked.

One of the ancillary features of this motherboard is the integration of a secondary heat sink, called Transpiper, which allows to better dissipate the heat generated by components and captured by dissipatori heat mounted on the motherboard. Through a structure heatpipe, in fact, heat is moved towards this additional radiator, mounted so as to be positioned near the rear fan ventilation of houses.
Additional information is available on the DFI website at this address.
