Dell's second factory in Europe

Dell announced a new production site in east Europe: the new European factory, a structure of 35,000 square meters, is located in Lodz, Poland's second largest city.

"Our customers will receive the highest level of computer 'Made in Poland'," said Nicky Hartery, ice president of Dell EMEA operation. To locate a factory in the heart of Europe brings us closer to customers in the growing markets of Central and Eastern Europe. Being closer to customers means to deliver them faster."


That of Lodz is the second European factory for Dell and it is similar to that of Limerick, Ireland. It was completed in less than one year. Initially, they will be employed 400 people who have completed a period of training in Limerick, but the prospects for employment will grow up to 1,100 employees by next January.

Dell will begin production in Poland with laptops ™ Latitude and Inspiron ™. Then desktops and servers. The Scandinavian customers will be served by the Polish factory, as well as those in Central and Eastern Europe.
